smart phone operated security/start

Just picked up a 2006 G35 and I'm looking for goodies... What does everyone think about all these smart phone RS units? I see and read very little about these units, but they sound great!! I know there is the viper one, and the compustar one. Anything else out there?? Side note... I also wanted to add a secure push start system to it as well. I really like the one from advanced keys, but integrating all this stuff is gonna be interesting! Thanks!!!

They are great for tracking, but for lock/unlock etc. NOT so much. I have done TONS of these and they are all slow to respond. Where a remote system sends a signal straight to your vehicle, the smart phone is at the mercy of your phones service. From the time you hit lock on your phone you can expect anywhere up to 30 seconds or MORE for your vehicle to respond.... A good idea would be a viper smart start that ALSO has a remote so you can use the remote for every day use and the smart phone portion as needed when you are not near your vehicle..Gary Sather

Good to know! I think the main reason would be RS from a good distance (work office to parking lot), and notifications of alarm trigger. BUT, if you say it can take 30sec+ for the communication to pass, the notifications would be slow too! Something to think about! Maybe ill just do 5902. Has anyone installed the advanced keys push to start RF system??
