I recently purchased an Audiobahn A235HCX on eBay (I know...) and I have a problem with it. First of all, it arrived without a fuse. Strange? Perhaps. After finding out it's fuse rating, I installed a new one. So far so good. Next, I installed it in my car using 4GA power and grounds. No problem. Then I fire it up and nothing. No output whatsoever, and the status LED stays red (instead of blue) indicating that it is in protect mode. So, I emailed Audiobahn tech support to see what this might mean, and I get the standard answers of check your wiring, voltage, etc. I must commend their tech support though on being very prompt to reply. Anyways, of course all the wiring is good, but it refuses to come out of protect mode. Anyone know what the problem might be? I'm wondering if the previous owner had overheated it and it needs to be reset somehow. I emailed tech support again, and they told me to bring it in to a dealer, but there are no dealers where I live. Could someone give me a clue as to what to do next, or am I the proud new owner of a very flashy paperweight?
Sorry for the long post....

What happens if you disconnect the RCA inputs and the speaker out puts, dose it still go into protection mode? If it dose then you have a bad amp, what were the terms of sale?

What happens when you take the rca_s out of the amp then turn system on? When the rca leads are not in does it go into protect mode then? If it doesn't, but when rca leads are attached goes into protect mode I would say have the amp serviced. I'm sure someone else will say this post is wrong or have other ideas......none the less good luck.

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but when ever you get an amp and the first thing that lights up is the light that is in protection mode and you have done all your connection correctly, 99.9 % of the time the amplifier is damage.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.Audiobahn Amp Problem -- posted image.

I disconnected the rca's and the speaker wires and still it stays in protect mode. I even took it apart the other night trying to find some signs of damage but I couldn't see anything. I don't know what else to do... Any other ideas would be appreciated... Audiobahn Amp Problem -- posted image.

I would send the amp in to be repaired. That was a pretty nice amp. Shouldn't cost an arm and leg.

If you disconnected all the inputs and outputs and it still goes into protection mode then the amp is almost 99% blown. I would try and contact the eBay seller and see if they can help you resolve the situation. Audiobahn is pretty strict on their warrantee and if you didn’t buy from an authorized dealer then you most likely don’t have a warrantee through Audiobahn.

I just fired off an email to the seller telling them of the problem. They claimed in their auction that the amp was used but came with a factory warantee. I am guessing it would be through the original owner though. Maybe we can work something out. Who knows. Audiobahn Amp Problem -- posted image.
Thanks for all your help and I will let you know how it goes.
