i have a viper 5501 responder .I have purchased a dei dual zone motion sensor to add to the responder .How do I get the responder to notify me when the motion sensor is triggered.I thought this dual zone sensor would plug directly into the 5501 but it does not.need some ideas and they would be greatly appreciated

If the alarm has an external shock sensor, you can splice in to the same plug. Wire colors will be the same. Red and black are positive and ground. Green and blue are the two stages of sensor.(warn away and full trigger) If the Shock sensor is internal, use another sensor wire that is not currently in use (e.g. positive door trigger, dome light supervision, etc.) you may need a relay or two to get the polarity right.

Dome supervision isn't a sensor wire.
The safest way is join blue and green then connect to the 5501 blue.
If that's being used remember to diode separate them which should be in your 508d instructions.
It will now show as either hood or trunk sensor.
