I recently finish installing a 5704 and 506T glass break sensor. The sensor came with a why harness. The manual says that the DEI shock sensor reports as zone 2 while the 506T, glass break, reports on zone 4. The 5704 manual says that you need the bitwriter (which I don't have) to program zone 4 to a glass break sensor. Do I need to program zone 4 for the glass break sensor to work. What is this option in the bitwriter programming for?

Also, I'm not sure if the glass break sensor is working. How do I test it.

Thanks

No, you shouldn't need to program it with a Bitwriter to work.
Without the Bitwriter, you'll only see Zone 4 if the glass/breakage sensor triggers.
To test it, adjust the sensor, sit in the car, armed it, then shake your keys or whistle while inside the car, and you should see the red LED on the module blink and the alarm triggers instantly. Or close the door, arm it, and tap your window with key(s). The alarm should go off too.
