Was wondering if anyone could help.
Car stereo aux port making a high pitched noise untill i plug my iphone in?
Also if i earth the common the noise stops.
Anyone know why? I was thinking the iphone acts as some sort of resistor and filters the noise?

Since we do not know what kind of vehicle you have, it will not be easy to help you. But Earthing the Common will not hurt anything. The common should be earthed, maybe a faulty connection is your problem. If you can figure a way to permanently earth it, it may be a solution to your problem.
