Good morning

I am new here and have been searching the form for an answer to a wiring problem. If it has nuts and bolts I am OK wires not so good. Here is my problem I have installed a Tri band extendable radio antena model 12355706 into a 1974 Charger I have rebuilt. This antena was used by GM in many vehicles. I want to control the antena using a switch (momentary switch I think) one position up and down in the other position with the switch resting in the center position. The antena has three wires grey, green and white. To make the antena go up grey is - and green is +.  To make the antena go down green becomes - and white becomes +. The green wire has to reverse polarity some how using a relay I think.

Can someone help me out on this with a diagram for the switch and relay as well as what kind of relay I need

thanks

Pam

5 pin electric window switch from Spal etc. no relay required or a 3 pin momentary with two timer relays such as the DEI 528t to make it automatic.
If you don't need it as an auto the the 5 pin switch is the cheapest option.

If the OP gave accurate information, the Spahl switch will not work. I will do some research to figure out what she needs to do. The Spahl switch will work if there were only 2 wires to control direction.

Purchase a fuse holder and some 5 amp fuses to place in the fuse holder.   Insert the fuse holder between your power source and all connections of the antenna.   Connect power to the white wire, Ground the chassis of the antenna. Touch green to power, the antenna should move one direction. Then touch grey to power, this should move the antenna the other direction.   Reread the first 2 sentences. If it works as above, it will be really easy to wire the relay to make it work.

Did you catch the part about the fuse holder and the 5 amp fuses?

Ok as per post # 4 instructions which I printed and followed to the letter there was no antena movement. The only way I could get any movement was as I first posted grey - and green + for up and to go down it was green - and white +.         I don't want the antena up all the time so that is why I want a rocker switch.
