P.S. some of the early 5901s did have problems with the built in starter cut/anti-grind but there are two simple work-arounds for that after testing to confirm, first reconnect the cut starter wire or add a relay.

The only issue i had with the first batch of the new generation viper systems was that it would freeze completely. No response at all.
Also, batteries dying is most notable during the winter. Summer time doesn't happen as much.

Well being that it is a ford my money will be in the starter solenoid. If the lights are dimming in the start position that means the key is doing what if is supposed to( as long as the battery is good) time to work down the line to see what might be bad. Could also be that the transmission is not in park. If the sensor dosent see the car in park it won't allow it to start. Try putting the car in neutral( be carful to have your foot on the brake) try starting the car. If that works go to your local mechanic and explain what is happening.
