)The Black wire should go to a good chassis ground source.The Red wire should go to an ignition Accessory source. An Accessory wire will test as follows : OFF ( 0 Volts ) while vehicle is OFF or key in ignition switch at OFF position. ON ( +12 Volts ) with key in ignition switch at ACC & ON positions. OFF with key in ignition switch in START position.The Yellow wire should go to a +12V constant power source. This wire will hold memory pre-sets if they are volatile.
