A DPDT switch won't help you out, you will need a three position switch that has an "off" position. A standard DPDT switch is still only a two position switch, it just has two SPDT contacts in parallel.
You should be able to diode isolate your ground feeds to prevent backfeeding to your door pin circuits but allowing both sets of lights to come on.

Can you tell me how to wire up each number? As in #1 goes to X and so on.

Also...you mentioned 6a diodes.
Would this be the diode you are talking about?

Reason I ask is because they have a few different 6a diodes. Also, since I have 3a diodes in there right now on parking light setup..what could go wrong if I dont change them out for the 6a right away?
