Installing an older rs 1200 on my Mommy in laws truck. It is an older used unit and it is missing the antenna. I am sure I can order a replacement from bulldog, but I have the vehicle today and tomorrow, and I want to install it now, as I have the time. Will the unit respond to the keypad at zero range, basically point blank signal? Does anyone know if radio shack has the components available so I could make my own antenna? Or is that even possible? Thanks guys, john.

16" = 400cms = around 400mhz so it should be OK.

No forget the last post, its size in mm x 300,000 for frequency in Mhz.
Length should be around 12"

Can't remember but the RS1100 doesn't have an antenna, just a short wire that is supposed to be straight and heading upwards.  The RS1200 had a long antenna that went to the windshield but the RS1200 "E" models had something different.   A call to Bulldog Tech Support should sort it out, they are very helpful

Some early units simply used a piece of wire, about 12" should suffice to get you some sort of reception for now.
