i was looking over the spec sheet for the car and there is showing a factory hood trigger. i'm so used to have to install the crappy pin switch that always rusts itself closed...
HOOD TRIGGER(-) VIOLET/GREEN @ Pass Kick harness or factory hood pin
has anyone been able to find this wire? i looked in the engine bay and even at the latch... couldn't find anything that looks like a factory hood pin...
i'm sure i'll have more questions over the next few days as im doing this install...

One way to test if there is one is to sit in the car and lock it so the Factory Alarm sets.  Wait a  minute or so and then pop the hood.  The alarm should go off.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks. The test worked there is an oem hood trigger but can't find the wire in the pass kick. There is a violet but no violet / green. I'll keep digging and testing.
For tach signal, has anyone been able to grab the wire from behind the dash cluster?
And is there an easier door trigger method than to hit every door ecu? Can I just try to find the door ajar wire on the dash cluster and use that? Or will it be opposite polarity?

Yes use the dome light feed as your all door trigger.

For tach go to the data (OBD II) socket, pin 9.

thank howie... since i had to build the relay for the un/locks into the driver door, i ended up just tagging the door trigger wires while i was in there... just time consuming since you have to open up the panels for all the rest of the doors...

ill test for tach signal at OBDII tonght and report back the wire color... look like there are only a few wires there anyway...

to close out the HOOD TRIGGER topic, i could no find the wire under the dash on either side... i ended up unbolting the latch and when you pull it out, you will see a two pin harness on the left which has the correct VIOLET/GREEN to tap...

sorry one more question...

The car already has all windows & sunroof open/close with the OEM key lock/unlock... i'm assuming since the car already has this built in, i won't need an addt'l window unit?

do i just tag the Aux options from the alarm to the lock/unlock wires and have the options set up for window?  do i need to diode isolate the Aux wires too?

Since aux is only low power 200mA, do I need to wire in relays to power the comfort close option on the lock/unlock wire?
Also, I found a tach signal on the gauge cluster, so much easier. Blk/Ylw in the harness. I'll eventually take pics once I have everything tapped.

Gauge cluster so much easier than underdash diagnostic (OBDll)?
What strange planet are you living on?
