Hello everyone,
I installed my alarm system in the summer of 2011. It has a 2 way remote. I think the system is the Crime Guard 750i6. Recently I have been getting false alarm. It would go off by itself.
So when it goes off the hood is flashing. So I disarm it, then arm it, but then it flash the door as fault. I then disarm it, and arm it, then it flash the hood as fault. I replaced the hood switch and the problem still persist. Before I take apart my car and replace the brain, I remove the connector to the hood pin switch, and this stops the false alarm.
I am wondering if the diodes I isolate the trunk and hood triggers have gone bad? I really don't want to tear the dash apart to reach the brain to replace the diode. Could I add another diode nearer to the hood pin switch? Would this work to isolate the hood trigger?
Thanks.

If you remove the connector to the hood pin and the problem stops then you have a problem with the hood pin. It could need adjusted to ensure its at the proper height to be pressed down completely when the hood is closed.

sometimes the easiest answer is actually correct. If the problem still there after adjusting the hood pin I would check the trunk pin
