I have an Xk06 pkg7 bypass and have everything hooked up wire to wire, but cannot get the unit to program as per the instructions. The led light comes on when I plug in the 10pin harness, but per programming instructions say to hold the programming button and turn the car on, the led should flash 3 times then release button. Mine the light stays solid while holding the button and I turn the car on nothing flashes just stays solid. I have tried several times. I have reset the bypass and the led confirms this. The only wire I do not have hooked up is orange 12 volt starter in as this is being installed on a 2005 Cobalt with no starter wire. Any help is greatly appreciated

Even though you are not using the starter wire from the remote starter on the car, I think the xk06 orange wire needs to be connected to the remote start starter output. What make/model remote start?

Yes the xk06 orange wire has to be hooked up to the remote starter's starter wire

I have connected the Orange wire to the starter output of the remote start and nothing has changed still not programming. I know there are two sets of instructions out there each with two different wiring set ups for the xk06. Mine lists programming as
VEHICLE PROGRAMMING:
1) Connect module , LED turns on for 2 seconds, then goes off.
2) Press and hold the programming button, LED comes on.
3) Start vehicle by key, LED will flash 3 times.
4) Release program button. Module is programmed.

Thanks bl4ck3d0ut and smokeman1 for your help. I see this issue now is the xk06 I got along with the directions indicate the firmware is pkg7. This explains why my directions weren't matching up with your advice. I'll have this flashed tomorrow with plxr firmware and switch some wires around.

Had bypass flashed today with plxr v3.0. I plug the bypass in and it flashes three times, I push the programming button twice and it flashes twice then I go to save and exit and the led flashes once, but comes back on solid right after. I turn the key to ignition and hold the button the relay clicks light flashes and goes off. The final step of actually learning the resistor code does nothing happens the led does not respond. It seams the xk06 exits after the first step? Anyone else had this issue. I have two xk06 and have tried both, both do the exact same thing.

Do you still have the brown wire connected when trying to learn the resistor code?
If two modules are doing the exact same thing, something is wired incorrectly.
