I had a remote starter (AS-1780) installed on my 2014 Kia Forte about a month ago. It worked perfectly until today. Now when I use the remote starter, the car starts and runs for anywhere between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. Then it turns off and starts again two more times. It was set to run for 15 minutes before shutting off.
Also, if I get in the car after using the remote start, put the key in the ignition, and turn it to "on", the car shuts off when I touch the brake to shift gears.
Just started doing this today and I've spent hours trying to figure out why but can't find a solution. I've had other remote starters and have always been able to find a fix. This one has me stumped.
Hoping someone here has some thoughts on what might be causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

did you install it or have it installed? if installed bring it back to whoever did it. any shutdown diagnostics? keep in mind shutdown and start error are different.

I had it installed but the place where it was done is a 45 min drive each way. Was hoping to avoid the drive.

I'm further. You're better off going to the shop 45 min away. Does it start fine with the key ?

Sounds like a programmjng issue...if it worked for a month and it started to cause these kind of issues it is likely in data...reprogram and you should be fine...this likely means going to a shop...plenty of shops in Ottawa that will likely charge you less than the gas to drive to the original shop where you had it done.
Remote starts are becoming increasingly more data related which makes diagnosis difficult for those not familiar with the product...
