The key it is the CAR KEY , the one that you put in the contact to start the car ! :)
You will need to have a one of the car's key in the box all the time.

HI there where can I get a DEI unit from and how do they work as i know the way the compustar transponder by pass works

Also on some immobilsers the contact wiht the key is not required.  When u press the buttons to unlck the doors this disarms the immob but would thre be any probs in installing the compustar??

What make, model & year car is this ? You can use a universal bypass module that requries a couple of wires to hook up . The (-) wire that you need is called the GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire fromthe Compustar. This wire only engages when the remote starter is activated, otherwise it rests at nothing.

Yes, place the key in the module and hook up the appropriate wires.
