How damn convenient.  I was just going to ask about the same exact question when I looked at the site and found this forum.  I am planning on either putting a single 15 inch kicker L7 in a vented box (about 5 cubic feet) or two 15 inch L7s in a box with roughly 2.5 cubic feet for each sub.  I'm pretty sure I wont be able to afford to buy 2 JBL BP1200.1s (my preference for an amp) at the same time and I'm POSITIVE that my cars stock power system will not be able to handle two let alone one of these amps, so my question is this.  Should I go for the set up with one 15 L7 running with 1200 watts RMS into it, or the 2 L7s with only 600 watts RMS into each?  I think the really large enclosure would be benificial, but would 2 15s sound better (louder in this case) even if they are getting half the power?  Can the L7s handle more than 1,000 RMS?  Would be nice to not be concerned with the sub getting messed up by putting too much power into it.  As for the power wire to be run, I'm honestly not sure.  I was told to get 2 gauge wire with a 150 amp ANL fuse to run one of those amps, but I'm pretty sure the amp will only accept 4 gauge wire, so to me that means that anything over 4 would be over doing it.  I already got a fuse block that goes from I/0 gauge into two 4 gauge outputs with an ANL fuse for each output.  They are really cheap on eBay, and it seems pretty well manufactured.  I've also heard great things about the 1200.1, so you should probably go with that set up, they are pretty cheap as compared to like Kickers, MTX, and Fosgate.

i looked at the TDX 12D4 by Diamond Audio and it says they produce 1500RMS  So If I get 2 of these and an Eclipse DA7232 amp that says it has Maximum power output of 2000W (both channels) into a 2kicker 15 install - Page 2 -- posted image. load.  Is this a good setup to go with, or is it overkill?

No that is one hell of a set up, it’s on a totally different side of the spectrum than the kickers. That set up will put out more clean undistorted bass than you will know what to do with. Your friend will defiantly be one of the big doggs in the neighborhood running that. One more suggestion would be to look at the Eclipse Titanium’s 88120TI DVC (SW9122) they are some awesome subs.
