Fair enough. It seems I severely over complicated this, but no worries if everything turns out okay.
I kept wondering about that Howie every time I looked at the Dball install info. The diagram just shows a black box labeled "remote start". I get that since directed can't possibly know what type or brand remote start/security system your installing. When looking at the diagram the only wires to hook to remote start module are: pink(+) ignition output from Dball T-harness to (+) remote start ignition input. I'll call it the H3 harness on viper module(10 pin large wires) had the a described ignition input, although the red12V fused wire also mentioned ignition input. RED / white and RED / black were inputs too but either for flex relay or ignition 2. I was able to find that my 09 Silverado did not have an ignition 2 option. I'm not even sure what ignition 2 means.
Okay so pink to R/S ignition input, a 12V and ground connection, and parking lights hooked to remote start. Literally 4 wires. I realize that we are talking R/S only when looking at the Dball install sheet. Also you've got the plug in connections to the 5706, sensor,d2d, ect... It's the alarm side of the 5706 that keeps me asking you about these large gauge wires. Red, RED / white, RED / black, pink, and orange. I also considered that since the vehicle is remote start ready needing only a Dball to actually have a working remote start, but a security system is also something I'm having to consider. Will the Dball communicate everything it needs to see or do these large wires need a direct connect?
I know that sometimes you just have to try something while testing and I'm not asking to have my hand held. I've been a mechanic/machinist/weekend warrior car audio enthusiast for over 20 years. So I know when I need to ask questions rather than zap some electrical components in my vehicle.
Seriously though, it seems realistic but not connecting any wires from the 5706's 10 pin harness is what you suggest?
Other than the 4 connections listed above you have of course your three CAN connections at OBDII plug.
Any words of reassuring wisdom on my ramble above Howie?
Thank you sir!
