Sidewinder alarm goes off by itself!

I have a DEI Sidewinder 6500ESP alarm/remote start on my car, it was professionally installed 2 years ago. I had a mercury tilt switch added when I purchased it. It has been fine up until now. Yesterday I went to my car and unarmed it as usual after work. 5 chirps! Looked at the LED, it was flashing 4 times, which according to my owners manual is: Instant trigger- for optional sensors. I know a person didn't cause it(all my stuff is still there LOL), so I went home. Parked car in attached garage and armed it(paranoid, eh?), played on laptop for about 2 hours and alarm went off. I went out and disconnected battery, left it disconnected until morning. This morning I reconnected the battery and drove to work. 30 minutes after I got there someone told me the alarm was going off. No idea what is causing it to do this, I think it may be the tilt switch sitting wrong. Any ideas? The shop that installed said to bring it in but would not give me any possible causes over the phone. I had a bad experience with them and would rather fix it myself(their installer scratched my car and denied it, Attorney General and BBB were involved and now they really don't like me). Help!

Try disconnecting the tilt sensor and see if the problem persists. Jeff

go to another dei dealer. or directed authorized dealer all of dei's alarms are the same with different names if they know dei than they will be able to figure out the problem. what ever it may be. also it may be a hood or trunk pin switch if it was put in a bad spot or just whatever the rain, or water could have hit in and it could be lossing its spring or rusted and connecting time from time. cause a false alarm, . so word to wize check to see if your hood or tunk pins are extreamly rusted if so go to any shop and purchase a new one and replace old one . and if you have one for both hood and trunk replace both . the tilt switch should be sealed from water and if you can see it try checking the screws on it.Jon
