I’m new to this forum and planning to install first time a remote starter on my 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L. I bought a Viper 5706V1W and a Dball2 module. Although I don’t have much experience on cars basically I’m an electrician, so comfortable with the wiring connections and soldering. I did lots of reading on this forum already, but I still need some valuable advice from helpful experts on this forum. All I want to achieve from this job is to remote start and door lock/unlock my truck during Canadian winter. I realize that the RS I bought has a security system inbuilt, can someone comment on following queries please:
- If I install Viper RS, will it interfere with factory alarm anyway? I assume it bypasses the factory alarm only during remote start step, before and after factory alarm will be intact, is it correct?
- Does it worth wiring Viper security system if factory alarm work OK and my primary need is remote starting?
- Do I need any diodes or additional relays?
- Dball2 seller flashed my module with Honda4 firmware so I assume it’s ready to go?
- What is the difference between W2W and D2D? I prefer to go with D2D as there is less wiring involved, is there any advantage if I go with W2W over D2D?
Thank you everyone for your time.

Correct

Entirely up to you!
Do I need any diodes or additional relays?
No

Yes

None, I've always gone D2D on this model, make sure you do the locks from the DB-ALL2 and let's hope your seller gave you the diagram for the DB-ALL2, that's all you'll need.

Hello HowieII, thank you very much for your quick reply. Appreciate it!
I have attached the captures of diagram that the seller gave me. I understand only solid lines show the wires need to be connected for D2D. I would like clarification on couple of things though, please confirm the following:
- If I read it right factory wire for security light needs to be cut, one end goes to H14/10 and other end goes to H14/11. Same with Alarm Interrupt wire, after cutting the factory wire one end goes to H14/8 and other end goes to H14/9.
- Keysense goes from RS GWR Status directly to the wire connected to Ignition Switch Pin 1, no diode as it is applicable only for W2W.
- Only 1 wire (H12/10) is enough for door lock/unlock input and output? And H10/6 just need to be grounded?
Thank you again for your time.

Thank you Howie II!
RS Install Guide says the neutral safety switch needs to be connected and turned on. Does it apply in my case since my truck has automatic transmission?

In my case with the same car I used a omega remote start keyless entry and bypass ol dball frome omega . I wired D2D. my factory alarm would go off so I had to run a disarm unlock before start and lock after start . Also factory remote wouldn't unlock door while running so I went to passenger side keyless entry module for lock and unlock

1) Program as remote start safe lock solves the first problem.
2) Wire to keysense as per the diagram above for remote unlock whilst in R/S mode.
