So several years ago I purchased this remote start. I've always used DEI remote starts, but thought I'd give this brand a shot. Back then I tried installing it in a 2003 GMC Sierra. I thought the pass lock was messing with me back then with this system, as it would remote start just fine, but only run for 5 seconds. I ended up giving up and put an Autostart on it and it worked fine. Now I've taken this Scytek off the shelf and am trying to install it in my 97 Dodge Dakota. There is no factory anti theft on this, so I know that isn't a problem. But the Scytek is doing the same thing. I have the minimal wires hooked up: 12V, Ign 1, Ign 2, Acc, Starter, ground. It starts fine, runs for 7 seconds, then shuts itself off. It does not try to restart. The lights on the control center simply flash once. If I hit the start button on the remote it just does the same thing all over again. Any thoughts?

Never mind. Think I found the problem. Opened up the casing and I see a burnt component.
