Remote start system activating everything

I recently installed a viper 4706v in my 06 Pontiac Grand Prix and it went in without a problem. I have installed it in two other vehicles previously, so I've had some practice. Once the install was finished every feature functioned perfectly from the remote start to the trunk release. After a week with no problems and perfect functionality chaos arrived. I opened the trunk with the remote and a minute later it seems it decided to activate everything and the key fob has no control over the unit. By activating everything I mean the horn was stuck on, the lights on, the ignition on, the doors unlocking and locking and the trunk release. I have rechecked my work twice over and i'm beginning to think the unit is faulty, but I'm hoping I'm overlooking a stupid or careless mistake. After unplugging everything the car functions normally, but as soon as i plug either plug back in that has power everything connected activates once again. Please if anyone could help i would be very grateful. Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated regardless of how stupid they make me look lol. Thanks in advance! For anyone that needs a good laugh this happened in my driveway, in a quiet neighborhood, with the keys locked in the car. So after only 20 minutes of the horn blaring I managed to borrow a slim jim and finally unplug the unit.

Have you checked the system ground ? A Bad ground can do funny thingsIf i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

That's a good idea. I'll check it to be sure, but I used an existing ground. Worth a try tho, thanks.

you want to go to a clean metal spot. You may need to clean paint off.If i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

I definitely have a good ground. Had my fingers crossed that was it.

I would look for a short or a lose connection. Double check all connections (again) and if everything looks good then it may be safe to say that the unit is faulty.

I'll go over everything one more time. I soldered everything, I'll check them all out though.

After going over everything I've concluded it has to be the remote start unit. I've sent it back to viper. Will update when I receive the new one.
