Hi forum,
I have 620V electroluminescent alarm indicator - (been in storage for some time) - alarm is not yet installed so I wanted to test the unit. It seems pretty simple - 2 wires black and red - to Red I plugged 12VDC+ and the black ground - not light - does this mean its faulty or am I over simplifying this?

those run off of 6 volts like the led, did it come with a box that step the 12 volts down to 6? if it didn't you probably fried it by hooking up to 12 volts
33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
