My car alarm did not come with a flashing led to warn potential thieves that I have an alarm installed and I see there are ways to install one that flashes when the key is out of the ignition but then it will flash whenever the key is out even if the alarm is not activated. Is there a way to wire up the flashing led to only activate when the alarm is activated by the remote by splicing into the lock trigger wire or similar?

Alarm system is a non vehicle specific aftermarket unit installed in a 2001 Nissan

Flashing LED positive wire to Constant power. Ground the LED to the positive ignition wire.
