I got an open box Prestige APS997Z that was supposed to be complete. When comparing with online photos of what's included in the box, it appears to be all there with the exception of this piece in the FLCART slot.
My question is simple, is this just a dust cover? Or does it serve an actual purpose?

The cap is just a plastic cover to protect the unit from dust and to protect the FLCART connector on the Remote Start.   Other than protecting the unit, the cap has no function.
