I recently installed a remote start (Encore E5) in my 2002 F150. Everything works correctly with the exception that if I want to turn off the truck using the remote while remote start is active, it will not turn off. I have attached the wiring for the remote start. I followed the wiring pictorial that I found on this site.

On the 5 pin harness, I connected all 5.
on the 10 pin, I connected 2, 4, 5, I believe
On the 6 Pin, I used all 6
Not sure what else to connect to be able to turn it off.

Does the remote started engine shutdown if you depress the Brake pedal?
Soldering is fun!

Good, so wiring shouldn't be the issue.
Are you set to one press or two press R/S?
According to the install guide ( couldn't find an E5 guide anywhere ), if you do the same button press you used to remote start the engine, it should shutdown the engine.

It’s set for one press start. I tried to single press and double press, but it doesn’t turn off.

It622fd-
I'm not an Encore expert, but where is your instant start input (10 pin pin 2, White/Blue) connected? Is it programmed to start the E5 remote start on a single pulse, perhaps seeing a lock pulse as the remote start shuts down?
It might be worth disconnecting this wire to see if that cures the issue. Just a thought...

I will have to check where that wire is connected. Where should the white/ blue wire be connected?

It depends how the E5 is configured for that wire's operation and what you want the unit to do in response. Since the E5 manual is not online, I'm thinking that the white/blue wire
shares the configuration of the remote--the number of presses on the remote and the number of pulses seen by the white/blue wire to start the vehicle are the same.
I'm not sure what your intent is for the white/blue wire. In may instances, the instant start function is used to enable the remote starter from another device--a telematics unit, or maybe a seperate alarm system, where 1 pulse from the seperate system would start the vehicle.   Sometimes this wire is connected to the driver's door lock motor to start the car on a number of lock presses from the OEM remote--but this requires either the configuration of the number of pulses for the white/blue wire to be a number greater than 2 (to avoid nusience starts when locking), or the use of a pulse counter (such as a PAC TR-7) to convert multiple lock pulses to a single pulse. The instant start wire is optional, so you could just disconnect, insulate and leave the wire unconnected if you don't intend to use the instant start function.
Hope this helps.
