Hey technicians/installers,

I need a definite answer.  I have a 1995  Camaro Z28, and I need to know if I need to have a bypass module or not.  It does have the chip key.  So, is the correct bypass module the DEI 555L?  Thanks for the help in advance.

I think your in the same situation as I am, according to the DEI guide: http://www.drdetailshop.com/TRANSPage.htm  click on the "see DEI doc" for more info.

From that you need the vats kit, I according to that guide, need the vats kit but would like to see if i could use a module or not like the 555L or 555T because I really haven't seen the vats kit widely offered on the net and don't want to break out my multimeter to do this.

I hope that I can use the 555L module, because I just bought one off ebay for $24.99 new.  On that website, it does have in places, "Passkey/VATS" written.  So, anyone else think the 555L module will work?  Thanks for the input.

I hope it works out for you, I'm just going by what I found on the net, I started a thread with the same kind of question as yours about the same time for my own car.

Hopefully a real installer/tech can give you good news or you'll find it works when you install it.

no a 555L will not work you need to read the resistor on your key then wire up the relay as per the diagram from the dei doc ive done several of these .. dei makes vats resistor pack  ...p/n 652t with the commonly used resistor theres only 15

I love bass
