Hi all,
Love the site have used it for years and always find an answer I don’t know. This time I’m off to something new for me I can’t find a good answer for. Working on a 1989 crx dx (standard/base is the other name and is a standard transmission) and found the wiring to be good after repairs but bad relays.
Sure I could order replacements at 40+ each, or, could swap to newer relays that are easier to source.
I have some water proof spdt with the more common 5 pin that I figure I could use in place.
For the ac compressor I’ve confirmed white is constant red is output blk/yellow is ignition. Yellow says it goes to ecu. I may be wrong but based on the diagram it looks like yellow goes to ecu. I recall that the radiator fan which also says it goes to ecu is grounded via the temp switch so I suspect this may actually be ground in terms of the relay being wired.
The two fans have similar issues with bad relays but good wiring. The condensor fan I can set white as constant blk/yellow as ignition with blue/black out and looks like blu/red is again connecting to ignition.
Radiator fan looks to be similar?
Any thoughts or am I way off base?

Looks like a good plan. Probably not an issue, but you might also verify DC resistance of the relay coils is similar to the originals. That way you don't place any additional strain on the ECU. You could install suppression diodes across the coils as well to prolong relay life (minimize arcing across the contacts)- striped sides towards the positive source.
You could always replace the compressor clutch relay, too.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
