Hi everyone, this is my first time posting but I have been a lurking for a while.
I am about to install a Viper 5305 remote starter / alarm on my 1980 Ford Bronco and just at a couple of generic questions because I have never installed one of these systems before. I am also going to be installing automatic lock actuators so I can use the lock unlock buttons.
1. Once the system is 'armed' can I still use my manual key to unlock the doors or will that trigger an alarm? What about starting the engine with the manual key? I would like to be able to still use my old fashioned keys without having to bring the remote control with me to unlock if possible. Looking at the manual for this system, there is a green (-) wire that is used as the door trigger input that will sound the alarm when any of the vehicles doors are opened. Can I just leave this wire disconnected and still be able to open the doors without the remote?

2. If I add a relay to tie into the dome light or horn circuit so the Viper can control these accessories, do I need diode? I have seen diodes used to prevent current going the wrong direction before but not sure if that's just required for sensitive electronics like the ECM or something. 3. I have a Holley EFI installed and Holley suggested waiting about ~5-10 seconds for the LCD screen to come on before cranking. Is there some way I can program the viper to turn on the accessory power, then wait a few seconds before cranking? I know there is a tie in for diesel wait-to-start signals, I am wondering if there is some way I can use this input but not exactly sure how I would do that.

4. Can I have two auxiliary functions both trigger the same relay? I know that sounds kind of pointless, but I can't decide if I want to use the trunk release button or one of the other AUX buttons to have the tailgate window roll down. The trunk button seems like the best option but I don't want to have to hold it for 1.5 seconds to trigger the signal. (I will be using a time delay relay here so I can just press the button once and have it roll down the window all the way).

1. You can leave the driver door unwired but it's the most likely entry point for theft. There must be a way to disarm the alarm after entering with the key. My viper had a programming button that I mounted under the dash that also worked as a disarm button. Yours may have something similar.
2. You shouldn't need a diode for those 2 items. Diodes would be needed if several items were sharing 1 trigger input wire, like 2 or 4 door pins all connecting into 1 door trigger wire input.
3. Menu 3-7 should power up the accessory wire during diesel wait to start. So the actual wait to start wire won't need to be connected but the feature should be on and the minimum setting which appears to be 15 seconds.
4. Yes, here's where you would likely want a diode on the multiple outputs that are triggering the same roll down input so the wires don't backfeed each other and cause damage to the alarm brain circuits. Although a power window roll up/down module might be best because it will stop when it detects the window stops traveling instead of being on a timer but it's not necessary. The way you want to do it would work too. Going in the up direction should have a roll up module though if you want 1 touch roll up because it would stop if it detected an obstruction, like a child's arm.
