I have a 2003  silverado with the 6-disk head unit, bose speaker system and onstar.  My mother has a 2003 suburban with the same think, but factory xm radio.  Both radios are just alike.  It appears that the radios are the same just mine is missing the xm reciever.  Is there away I can add xm to the aux inputs on my radio.  I do not want to go with an FM interface.  Any help will be great.

thank you,

Billy Matthews

The Peripheral PXGM12 and the PAC AAI-GM12 both give you a pair of RCA type connections to get a direct connection to the factory stereo system, but these adapters will only work if you have an oem slave unit connected, such as the separate GM CD or tape player, or an external GM CD changer.  The in-dash changer does not count as a slave unit.

I'm sure there's a GM kit that lets you add XM to vehicles that did not originally come with it, but I'd imagine such a kit would be VERY pricey (i.e. at least $400).

So really other than that, at the moment the only way you can get satellite radio in your silverado is to use an fm modulator with an aftermarket xm tuner/display.
