The glass break sensor on the dashboard is only a microphone, I think. There is probably a special circuit inside the Toyota alarm brain that processes the audio from the mic, and I don't think the mic would do you any good alone. The LED is likely to work. There shouldn't be any harm in trying, anyway. Just make a temporary connection at first until you're sure. And it won't work if the polarity is backward, so try it both ways.
