hello...if you are just getting to "glassin" things now...you might want to check out the differences between the weight of the mat. i've had an enlightening experience (being low on ressin...and going for a heavier mat)... the heavier mat is harder to work with, if you get a pack from the local home-depot or discount autoparts you will see the difference between the weights.... however it is not imposible, just a little harder to work with; if you got that mat from e-bay you got a good deal...just know that it'll be more work from your part trying to make it do what you want it to... just my 2 cents.
It's better to ask a "STUPID" question...than to know a "STUPID" answer. :-)

yeah, ive kinda got that about the weight differences from tutorials and stuff. i've read that it was hard to work with heavier mat on walls and the top of enclosures. also that the e-bay mat isn't exactly meant for enclosures, but i sorta understand what's necessary to make it work. the e-bay mat does come with a looooooot of fiberglass, so layers shouldn't really be a problem.
just for my understanding, the natural fiber rope would be better since it soaks up the resin, right? i might use it as ribs for the enclosure to make it more rigid.
