The Titanium’s put out a lot more bass and  their as clean as the Aluminums. But they still have a good balance of SQ/SPL. Here is a review by car audio magazine on the Titanium’s http://www.caraudiomag.com/specialfeatures/0112cae_subwoofer/index.html but from your description of what you’re looking for I would go with the aluminum series.

They do make it sound like it is strictly spl but the sub actually puts out some good sq for the amount of bass that it puts out. But I would go with the Aluminums they put out lots of bass but they are still a sq sub.

If you’re only getting one I would suggest you go with the JBL 600.1. But you can use the 1200.1 as long as you keep the gains down.

okay guys thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna go with the aluminum eclipse's.  Bberman1 suggested I use the jbl 600.1 amp, any other suggestions?

I am a Kicker dealer and love all there products you could go with some L5 10's and do like a Kicker 600.2 on them what you do is get the DVC 4ohm's and wire them in parrallel and the wire each sub in stereo mode on the amp  they like either a 2ohm stereo, or a 4ohm bridged modes

And kicker works great for sq look at all the trophy's
