Do you have a factory subwoofer?  What about the factory premium/JBL sound system?

Easiest , yet not the best for sound quality, is to use high to low adapters behind your factory deck to change the high level speaker outputs to low level rca's.
What?

if you want to, but a forward and reverse harness for you deck, use high to low converters for the front and rear so that you have to sets of RCA's going to amps, hook one up to the speakers and the other to the amp, this way when you fade to the front you'll get more bass or more treble, however you set it up.  Also with this setup you aren't cutting any wires.

Most explorers are factory amplified, therefore you will have to get a hi-lo converter that is capable of getting a low level line out RCA signal from a low level speaker wire output which is coming from your factory radio. Best Buy sells a PSI2 converter made by Install Edge (rockford) for $40.
However, the easiest thing to do is going to be to locate the factory amp behind the rear side panel on the passenger side of the truck, and grab all your speaker connections there. This will allow you to use a regular Hi-Lo converter (grab the signal coming from the output side of the amp) cut the wire, and then connect your speaker wires coming from your 4ch amp to the wires that go to the speakers.
