Constantly light security light

I've got a 2002 Grand AM GT, with a Viper 790XV. When I remote start or use the key, the security light comes on and stays on. I used the DEI bypass module for the PK2, but I'm still having the problem. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this... Resetting the alarm, disconnecting the battery overnight, re-learning the correct resistance, etc... I'm wondering if the car has a memory of the security violation, or if this is a real time thing. Can it just be reset by a dealership? I'm close to just pulling the bulb out of the dash. Any suggestions?

on grand am's it is almost inevitable. that security bypass will almost always fail eventually.. the DEI module is fine.. make sure you do not attempt to start the car with the yellow wire for passlock II cut..  that will definitely trigger the security light every time.

to cancel out that light do the following

• reconnect the yellow wire to original.
• disconnect the negative side of the battery only and wait 10-15 minutes
• i forget, either the key must be in the ignition but in the off position or it may need to be in the on position
• either way, only about 15 minutes

when ever you check the resistance value, you need to crank the key, make sure the yellow starter wire is cut so the car does not try to start, that is what causes the false light

also, you might have the incorrect resistance

here is what i do

• with the starter wire cut
• first cut the yellow passlock (very thin) wire
• the other passlock wire, not the yellow, is your reference point
• meter the side of the yellow that goes to the key
• meter 2 to 3 times just to be sure
• once you have the resistance, connect the resistor from the yellow wire that is not on the key side and connect it to the black passlock wire, or whatever color it is in that vehicle.  forget the bypass module

Alright, I'm frustrated. I've tried every suggestion and I can't get the d@mn light to go off. Everything works fine, with remote start, and key start. The light is just on all the time. I'm trying to sell the car, and having the security light on is not helping. If there is anyone in northeast Ohio that wants to make a quick $100 please contact me. I need to get this taken care of, and I want it right.
