I am going to install a crimestopper cs-2006 alarm on my 99 chevy tahoe. I didn't know if there was a passlock system on this vehichle that I need to bypass for the remote start. I got a wiring diagram of of the 12volt and it didn't say anything about one but I wanted to make sure before I start the job.

Where is an easy place to locate the tack wire in the cab of a 99 chevy tahoe for my remote start. The manual says to hook it up at the coil but I think it would be a cleaner and easier install to have as many wires run inside the cab as possible. Thanks

Best place is at the ECM under the hood. The wire should be white, but remember to check with a multi-meter.

Yes, it does have a passlock system. It should have passlockII, your car will need a bypass mod inorder to remote start.

If you really wanted to you could catch it behind the instrument cluster.

Thanks a bunch fellas. I think I will try to catch it at the ecu because I REALLY don't feel like taking out the instrument panel.

I need to know if there is an alternate route to take for hooking up my brake wire for my remote start on my tahoe. It is friggin buried DEEP above and behind the steering column and 2 other large protective peices of metal. I can barely even touch the switch and there is no hope I can ever get wires back there to make the connection. Any suggestions?

My 99 tahoe has positive trigger power locks but my alarm (crimestopper cs-2006) has a negative pulse. My manual told me to wire the relays accordingly 85 neg. pulse off alarm, 86 12v+ off alarm, 87 12v+ fused off constant, 30 from relay to unlock wire, between the factory relay and actuator. This is for positive trigger doorlock wiring. After I hooked it all up I grounded post 85 which should make my doors unlock. It did not. I tried the reverse polarity wiring as well which is the same as above but you cut the factory unlock wire and run a wire from 87 to one side and a wire from 30 to the other. I grounded post 85 again and still no luck. Any suggestions.
