Wow, I wasn't even close...thanks Jeff!
I guess I have a lot to learn about relays. Making the sunroof the 4th channel - Page 2 -- posted image.
I guess I could also hook 30 to GREEN/ YELLOW to open?
Cool! Thanks agai

Doh, it didn't work. Hmmm, what am I missing?
I connected it as it says to 3 posts above:
86 --> 12v constant
87 --> ground
85 --> alarm channel
30 --> GREEN/ YELLOW of sunroof (to open)
87a -> not used
all that happened was the relay would click for as long
as I would hold down the button on the remote.
I called the tech support line for the module, but the
guy didn't sound like he knew what he was doing. he told
me to do the following:
85 --> 12v
87 --> 12v
86 --> alarm channel
...then to cut the GREEN/ YELLOW wire going to the switch
87a -> switch side of GREEN/ YELLOW wire
30 --> motor side of the GREEN/ YELLOW wire
again, I didn't try this as he didn't sound very assuring.
I have the Bulldog RS 122. I'm attempting to use the
channel that's used for the trunk release (the WHITE/ red wire),
if that's any help. Hmmm, and more ideas?
Thanks!
This is the manual

Try this:

  • 30 : Motor leg of sunroof
  • 87a : Switch side of sunroof
  • 87 : GROUND
  • 85 : 12 volts CONSTANT
  • 86 : Alarm(-) output

The sunroof wire requires a (-) signal not a (+). The Bulldog tech guy was telling you that the relay configuration for the sunroof required a (+) siganl to close the sunroof. I hope that you didn't short anything out ?!?! Make sure that before you hook up the wire to the sunroof from pin 30 you check the polarity of the output and double check the polarity of the GREEN/ YELLOW and see if it is in fact a (-) input wire.

Thanks for the reply...I just have a question about the last 2 things you said:

1.  For checking the "polarity of the output", do you mean to probe the alarm's output

wire, and it should read (-)?

2.  Then, I can probe the GREEN/ YELLOW wire, and I should get a (-) polarity as well?

3.  Plus, I'm assuming that when probing both of these wires, I should be getting

a reading with the car off.  In other words, no key in the ignition or anything?

Thanks!

1. I mean make sure you probe the output of the wire on the relay, pin 30 to make sure that it is infact a (-) signal

2. YES

3. No you need the car ON when testing because the circuit has no power when the car is off. Turn key to the ACC position and test the wires when you press the switch and make sure that it grounds out when pressed. If it does then you have a (-) trigger and the above relay configuration will work.

Ahh, just to conclude this episode...

It turned out that the wire for opening the sunroof needed a positive

signal.  I tested it with a DMM, and it was positive, and then I used
a test light, and positive again (because I didn't trust myself).

So I did hook it up the way bulldog suggested, and voila, it worked...

85 --> 12v

87 --> 12v
86 --> alarm channel
...then to cut the GREEN/ YELLOW wire going to the switch
87a -> switch side of GREEN/ YELLOW wire
30 --> motor side of the GREEN/ YELLOW wire

Finally:)  So, in the same manner, can I hookup another relay to do

the driver/passenger door?  If they need the same polarity signal, can
I jump the same relay, or use a different relay if they require a different
signal?  I hope that made sense...

The driver and passenger doors require a window module to open or close it. There is no relay that will tell the window to stop the power going to it. The windows are (-) activation .....  this I know for sure.
