I'm trying to bypass my clutch for a remote start. i found the purple and yellow wire but I dont know if my clutch is neg. or pos. it for a grand am 1997 if anyone could help me bypass it that would be great. thanks

well sometimes you need to cut both wires at the same time with a relay or one of them needs to be cut and the other always connected you need to use a test light to find out or a dmm. push the clutch while probing the wires and then youll know

I need to make a short video of my car in first gear, with the e-brake off and RS it.  I wonder how much it would travel... on flat ground.  I'll name it, "remote start, my dumbass,  and leaving it in gear."

Providing that are using a car starter for a manual, feed your + starter lead to the heavy purple wire at your clutch.  That will start your car.

Another thing you can do is use the blue wire from the remote start to power a relay that would short the two wires together.  That's basically what the switch is doing every time you step on the clutch.
