Has anybody had expereince with this amp? I've read nothing but good things about it. It's MSRP is $700 and Sound Domain is selling them for $199 on special purchase. This is a digital amp with crazy power. I'm powering the 2 MTX 8000 series woofers in a enclosed box. Here's the stuff I bought today from SD. I'm building my system around the Panasonic 7300U in dash DVD player. Am I building a good system? Oh yeah, my weak link is my Coustic 481QE 480W amp that I will be running the MB Quarts at 60W X 4 at 4ohms for max quality.

I'm installing the amps in the trunk of my Lexus LS400. So if I don't like the quality of this Coustic 481QE I cas easily switch it out. I actually had a Coustic 380 amp about 15 years ago that powered 2 - 10" woofers that did a great job. I got the amp for really cheap off eBay so it's no biggie if it doesn't work out.

Do I setup the 2 - 12" woofers in parellel or series with this 2 channel amp? I will be mounting the woofers in my MDF enclosure myself.

im sry youve had this entire post to yourself, do you have the svc or dvc models? hopefully the dvc models for ease of wiring, but if you have the svc the only way you can wire them is one per channel, but they will only get a supposed 200wrms from the amp in which mtx suggests a 400wrms per sub.

if you have the dvc models let me know and ill help you more.

Here's the specs if you could take a look and tell what you think> http://www.ultimate-sound.com/pdf/technical/platinum/dt2-800.pdf

I'm reading 2 X 200W at 4ohms <0.05% THD, 2 X 400W at 2ohms <0.2% THD  or 1 X 800 at 4ohms <0.3% THD. I don't know about dvc or svc models? Here's some reviews at SD (bottom)> http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ULTDT2800

The subs that you have are the 4 ohm single voice coil model.  The only way to maximize the output of you amp would be to get the dual voice coil subs and wire them in parallel than into series to present a 4ohm load to your amp.

In regards to the amp it is very clean but power hungry when pushed.  I have one bridged into two dual 4-ohm MTX-6000's.  I have been running the amp bridged over a year now and it has never shut down once.

So what's the best way to setup these 8000s with this amp. 2 X 400 at 2ohms? http://mtxaudio.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/thunder8000.cfm

I have a 1 fared capacitor that I am dedicating to this amp. Is that enough since it's very power hungry? Thanks fuseblower.

How should I wire this? Can I get 400W per woofer with this amp? Since these are SVC woofers will I be limited to 200W X 2 at 4 ohms a side? Do I really need DVC woofers to maximize this amp? What would be the wiring diagram? Thanks.
