i'm in the market for a new battery for my 1993 LS400. i'll have a small system in the trunk and i'm gonna ask people at  the "clublexus" forum which they recommend and hopefully one will cross-reference.

What kind of system do you have.  You might be able to use a regular battery.

AMP, RADIO, SUB etc...

hey, i'm a member of clublexus too! what a small world. my battery just died and i changed it to a red top optima. a oem lexus battery is about 80 dollars so i just spent alittle more for a better battery. i hear nothing bad about these batteries and it's supposed to last longer. you might be able to get a good price at costco.

An Optima Red top is a good battery to go with.

I would suggest a Hawker Odyssey battery http://www.odysseyfactory.com/ody_why.htm   they manufacture all the batteries for Stinger
http://www.sounddomain.com/shoplist~b~Stinger~t~Batteries as well as the military. Since Optima was bought out by Interstate a few years back I think their quality has gone down hill. If you put the 2 manufactures side by side and compare specs on the batteries the Hawker comes out on top.

It's funny, but SOund domains own rating system has the Optima rated higher than the Stinger. You can beat Optima dollar for dollar. If you are going to listen to your system a lot with the engine OFF, go for the yellow top, otherwise get the red top. OE Toyota batteries are small and made strong enough for ONLY OEM 100% factory cars.

Premieravp you might want to read car sounds review of the two batteries  (Stinger)  http://www.carsound.com/reviews/power/Power2dB.html (Optima) http://www.carsound.com/reviews/power/yelltp.html But disregards to what the reviews above say, if you compare specs between the two battery the Stinger/Hawker will give you the most power.
