I have a 2003 Hyundai Accent GL with power locks.  I would like to install an Avital keyless entry that I have, but I have read conflicting posts concerning what type of lock system it has.  Some say it is a negative pulse with no relay required while others say it is a one wire system, relays needed.  Before I attempt to install it I want to make sure that I have the necessary accesories and know which wires to connect to.  Also, does anyone know which wire(s) are needed to connect the courtesy dome lighting to the keyless module?

Thanks in advance.

Hey derek123. The above info is correct only if the car originally came with keyless entry. If it didn't come with keyless entry from the dealer you will have to put an actuator in the driver door. To test this, just lock the front passenger door. If the drivers(and the others if four door) door doesn't lock, then you need the actuator.

My car did not come with keyless from the dealer, only power locks.  However, it does lock all four when the passenger door is locked.  I saw this post that has confused me.

As far as I understand, the negative trigger is different from the Type F.  Is this not the case?  I plan on installing this over the Christmas break so any more info that's out there would be appreciated.

I finally got it installed!  I still have to hook up the parking lights and dome light though.

Here's the how-to for anyone interested.
