PL2002/ PL2002A? Bypass modules

thats all we use here, but we refer to them as pl2002a & pl2002b, the a's come in a plastic box(its acually an old shock sensor case) and the b's are shrink-rapped in heat-shrink. The both use a rotary potentiometer. The b's are great, but the a's don't work on passlock I without a fix and the have a tendancy to lock up the vehicle if you have them plugged in when u go to set them. We have done thousands of vehicles with these units and very few comebacks.

So are you saying i should avoid the pl2002a and just get the pl2002?

Ya, the a's are still ok, the don't come back either, but i would use a b, just because it is a better unit. We prefer them over 555lw and other because you don't have to cut the passlock wires, which is less painfull when dealing with warrenty issues from the dealers. Plus if they ever do screw up, there's less chance of the vehicle becoming undrivable, just unplug it, and there is no ressistance left on the wires.
