question about SW mounting

i have made a back seat sw enclosure.... but on problem is that the fast of the woofer is going to be about an inch away from the back of the seat?
just wondering if ne one can answer the question if this is a good idea?
is it going to hurt my w7 or hurt performancE?

It probably will hurt the performance, it will perform better if it isn't facing a solid surface( full metal rear seat would hurt it more then just foam). You should try to have the sub at least 6 inches away from anything solid.
