99 accord and rs install

blah blah...I searched etc..and didnt see the exact answer I was looking for so I thought I would try again

since I dont install anymore I actually had my old shop install this for me, but I havent been able to contact them since I have been gone all week etc...

I have a 99 accord ex with a factory security system

and I had a clifford rs2 installed

when the doors are locked the factory alarm goes off with remote start/trunk pop.....easy enough need to unlock doors first....

the rs2 has a function to pulse the unlock on trunk pop...problem solved

however for the rs the problem is that I dont want to have the damn doors unlocked after rs untill shutdown...and I dont want to have to rember to rearm it after it remote starts (seems to not be a problem)....I could care less about the factory alarm but for some reason my guys thought it would be easier to leave it in....not sure why....I want to completely disable this alarm since it serves no function whatso ever.....I seem to see that if you ground a blue wire in the door it prevents the factory  alarm from seeing a locked door and therefor not arming AT ALL? is that right...is that the generally accepted method of disabling the factory alarm. any other suggestions?

I will be getting it back to these guys soon but with the season being so busy, I know that they will not have time to trouble shoot this....and we dont/didnt do a lot of foreign cars so these guys had never done an ex like this...

hi the blue wire in door is the disarm no unlock some people say you can also find it on pass side behind access panel on dash ive never found it there but ive only done one or hondas that required it.i think its orange there but not 100% sure

so by grounding this wire, it will prevent the Factory system from ever arming?

if you ground it, yes it will prevent the factory from arming....but the proper way is to use a disarm wire....i think most ppl groudn it permanent since getting disarm wire through the door would be time consuming.....i did it to my buddy's car for over a yr ago and nothing happen.

Its easy to run the wire into the car if you have the right snake tools. Why not use the factory alarm since its there? Do it right the first time...

1. what would be the point of using the factory alarm if I have a RS2? it would provide 0 benefit

2. using the disarm wire prior to remote start, dosent solve the initial problem of LEAVING THE DOORS LOCKED DURING THE REMOTE START, or does it?

3. having a worthless factory alarm is just one more thing to go wrong

1. Ever hear of multiple layers of protection?
2. The doors never unlock if you use the blue wire for disarm.
3. Some people just don't get it. Why don't you just permanately bypass the chip in the key to since its just another thing that could go wrong.

I disagree with your first point, if the triggers are the same, its not really another layer, especially since its disarmed by unlocking the front door, all you would have to do is break the window, and unlock it by lifting the latch, as I understand it

point 2 is what i am looking for....if I pulse/ground  this wire instead of the unlock (thus dsarming the alarm) that should solve my problem and I wont have to worry since the rs2 dosent care if the factory alarm is disarmed..if I ground it, end of story, if I pulse it, I would be able to enjoy whatever level of "protection it offers me"....sorry if you thought I was being stupid, but when I was an installer nothing vexed us more then when an aftermarket add on  (ie remote start/keyless/alarm etc...) would not cooporate with the OEM system.  thats why I think its easier to remove them and add on an all in one aftermarket system, WHEN approriate, which in this case it could be....now for your last comment about bypassing the chip....why...the transponder bypass is part of the RS2 system....if one part fails/is defeated/then in essence the whole thing is shot....ok so no rs...but if the factory alarm goes sh*tzo on me, it could potnetially keep me from starting the car with a key, unlocking, disarming etc....I am all for layers dont get me wrong, but I was talking about the reliablity of an oem system, when it has been integrated into a far superior and better (for lack of a better word) system.......not about having multiple layers of security

This car has a shock sensor, so if someone were to break the window and try to open the door the alarm would go off. Tell your guy's or yourself to do like JWorm said, do it right the first time...

You understand it wrong. And from I have read of your comments you have no clue how your factory alarm works, The factory alarm disarms by turning the key in the drivers door cylinder. The blue wire from the key cylinder (which has nothing to do with unlocking the doors) then goes to the window switch in the drivers door. From there the signal is multiplexed into the vehicle...not that I expect you to know what that means. Permanately ground the wire....I don't care anymore.

My point #3 above was a joke in reference to you wanting to disable factory security functions that can be easily integrated with an aftermarket system.
mbsaudio, as far as I know a 99 Accord does not have a factory shock sensor.
When were you an installer and for how long?
