Hey-

My bro jus came accross a system a buddy had and got it for dirt cheap, he got a hollwood high excursion 15" sub, and he put it in his truck for now, he has 1200 watts going too it and that sucker pouns, it moves alot of air. I was wondering how good of quality these subs are, because i was thinkin about buying a few myself, i found a good deal where i can get 2 10's for $50. My only problem is that i have a 5000 watt custom amp, and that means i would have to load my truck with about 16 of them!!! That would be cool, but i also have air space to worry about, please reply to me, any help would be useful abotu theses subs and setup tips. thanx a bunch.

Trey

If you have a custom 5000 watt amp then you should know how good the subs are because that amp would cost a S***load. I don't know much about the subs, but then again if you have 5000 watts going to pretty much any two low level subs then they are going to fry.

Well the amp wasnt custom made for me, i bought it off of a guy that did competitions, and was selling it for a good price. And im not that stupid, no one in their right mind should even think of running a 5000 watt amp on 2 525 watt speakers. I was thining of running multiple subs, around the 14-18 area, i jus have 2 worry about air space when i get ito that.

LOL looks like people are more interested in tearing apart your 5000 watt amp claim than answering the question..First let me say my experience with hollywood sound labs is VERY minimal so take this however you want. Anyway the hollywood excursion subs are pretty basic. From what I have seen there prices are on the low side as you mentioned. The subs are more geared for SPL than sound quality for sure. I would put them in the "good bang for the buck" category of subs. Not much but better than nothing I guess..By the way here's a link to their website if you feel like looking around:

Good luck,
Mike
