Need to find the tach wire for a GMC sierra-2001, i understand it`s in the 80 pin red connector under the hood. Has a 8 cyl. engine. Would like to know if i could find the wire inside somewhere, and where?Thanx.

Test it with a DMM in AC to determine that is right wire.
