I'm looking to buy some new subs and which ones out of these two (please no outside suggestions on other subs, just these two)would be the better for a sound quality setup? (I would be only looking at 10" and would be running 2 off of a kenwood kac 7201)

I have two 10" type r alpine subs and I love them, ever since pg changed ownership the quality has gone to crap.

The specs on these two subs are very similar, why should I choose the type R? Do they sound better?

No offense intended dude, but why have you limited yourself to only these two subs?

im agreeing with forbidden.

I suggest these:

http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep2/10kx.htm

They are way cheaper and better than both of those.

Or if you want more power these:

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

The reason I am doing that is because I live in Canada, they are the most expenisve I can afford and have had experience with products from either company (just not the ones I'm looking at)

Mark, if your limiting yourself to those 2 subs go with the type-R's. They do sound better and pheonix gold is a pretty bad company.
