Mark, I am also in Canada and would be glad to help you, I have many brands available, I am located on Vancouver Island, probably nowhere near you, but just because you are seemingly isolated does not mean that you should not look outside the box. Now Kleenx Gold has made some nice product over the years, but the new product is nowhere near the level of quality it was a number of years back, they have gone the way of most companies in order to remain competitive, that is a cheaper price point. The olny way to get cheaper is to start by using cheaper quality parts and cheaper manufacturing processes. What dollar range is in reach for you for subs?
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

why not use e-bay and broden your selection??  altho i would still go for the alpine.  They are a awsome 2 in 1 sub, they have great spl for the price, and the sound quality is amazing.

theres no comparison, go with alpine. The specs between them maybe close but if you listen to each one you'd pick type r. You shouldnt choose one over the other because of the spec's. Listen to them and decide! I hit 143.5 spl inside my car and 154 in the trunk.
