Did you install a transponder bypass: either universal that requires the use of an additional programmed ignition key, or a no key required module. If you have not, then try putting the key in the ignition but do not turn it and then remote start. If it works then you just need to install a bypass. If it still does not work then you will also need to do something else.
Please provide all the information you have too.

As long as you installed it correctly, you have to actually program/turn on the alarm and program the buttons to the alarm.

What model of compustar? 2way? alarm?
Is your hood closed?
Are you holding the start button for a full 2 seconds?
What happens when you push the start button? Beeps? Display?

Its a CM 4200, The hood is closed,  I,m quite sure the start button was held for 2 seconds , but i will check that. When the start button is pushed the light on the remote flashes and a light on the antenna also flashes. The same thing happens with door locks. It does seem to be a programing problem.

Thanks

does the theft light in the dash glow steady for 3 to 4 seconds or does it flash fast when you try to remote start
