I was using a pioneer 8400 cd player.

the stock alternator was a 102 amp and I upgraded to a 150 amp.

Hey I have a planet audio amp P225hc that I'm considering wether to sell or not.  How much you guys  think I can get for it????

Just cause a sub has higher x max dosnt mean it sounds better. You are right though if he likes the Eclipses then he should buy them.

The subs are trash. If you had bought them authorized you would have had a warranty and could have gotten them replaced.
Customsuburb, I realize that just x-max doesn't make it sound better, in fact I believe it has more to do with SPL than SQ. The Titaniums are high end SQ subs with tremendous SPL as well.
Just a side note on the Titaniums, the magnet is detachable. I believe you can remove it and send just the basket back to Eclipse for repairs/replacement. And if it's out of warranty, I also believe you can get replacement baskets for less then the entire sub. Just a thought.

Not sure, but here's Kicker's Customer Service warranty dept. info
Email KICKER Customer Service for Warranty help at warranty@kicker.com
Phone KICKER Customer Service - 405.624.8510 (M-F 8am-5pm Central Time)
Drop them a line and they'd be able to tell you. Although most warranties only cover manufacturer defects, not damage to to use/abuse. Destroying 2 spiders is usually a sign of overdriving the subs (like Forbidden said, you probably had the gains set too high and caused the amp to clip). But what the hell, it never hurts to ask anyway!

overdriving an amp can cause clipping, which causes a distorted signal, which destroys the sub. So you're right that distortion destroys subs, but you have to look at what caused the distortion in the first place.
