try  www.shopmaninc.com  they have all the fiberglassing materials you can think of such as the two-part expanding foam that the magazines really use but do not let their readers know.  you can get some super stiff foam for $16 - it is a foam kit that will expand to 1/2 cubic foot, there are some other foams they have that are not as rigid for a cheaper price.  the stronger the foam, the higher the price, and with the two-part liquid, it takes a lot longer to go bad than the already mixed foams in a spraycan
